Double posting today cause it's snowing and it's beautiful and I forgot about this song.
The song is "Snowfall" by Ingrid Michaelson and it perfectly captures the essence of love and snow and connects them beautifully as only Ingrid Michaelson can.
I was thinking about this song because I was talking to my boyfriend about music, which happens a lot, and I started playing Ingrid Michaelson and he reminded me of this wonderful and lovely song that I haven't thought about in a long time.
This song was the background for one of my favorite winter memories. It was during our winter break and I had slept over at one of my best friend's house. She lived up above our city and had floor-to-ceiling windows on every level of her 3 story house and had the most extraordinary views of the entire city. We had woken up early and were the only ones home and we came upstairs to get breakfast and were nearly knocked back with the amazing view through the window. It had snowed through the night and the city was completely blanketed in fresh powder and everything was absolutely still and silent and incredibly breathtaking. We turned on this song on repeat and danced around her house in our pajamas. Then we made hot chocolate for breakfast and took it out onto the balcony and watched the snow falling and laughed at how witty we were that we were watching snow fall while listening to "Snowfall." So listening to this song again brings back that wonderful day and makes me remember just how romantic and beautiful snow is.
"I want a snowfall kind of love
The kind of love that quiets the world
I want a snowfall kind of love
'Cause I'm a snowfall kind of girl
I want a snowfall kind of love
That lights up the sky from below
I want a snowfall kind of love
That brings people to their window
Won't you bury me in your quiet love
Oh bury me in your quiet love
Bury me in your quiet love
And we will blow away
I want a snowfall kind of love
The kind of love that keeps you in bed all day
Oh I want to walk through with you
And watch it all melt away
Won't you bury me in your quiet love
Oh bury me in your quiet love
Bury me in your quiet love
And we will blow away"
